VINELAND, ON – The Wine Council of Ontario (WCO), in partnership with the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC), is pleased to announce that nineteen WCO member wineries will be participating at Ontario’s Celebration Zone at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre during the Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games this summer.

OTMPC is taking advantage of the spotlight from the Games to host a showcase of the ‘Best of Ontario’ for 38 funfilled days. Ontario’s Celebration Zone will be open to the public on Friday, July 10 to Sunday, August 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

It is estimated that Ontario will receive an additional quarter million visitors during the three weeks the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games are happening. The WCO will help OTMPC promote Ontario as a tourism destination by showcasing a variety of Ontario VQA wines at Ontario’s Celebration Zone and encourage tourists to visit Ontario’s world-class wine growing regions.

“We are looking forward to showcasing Ontario VQA wines to the rest of the world. Visitors from across the globe will have the opportunity to taste and experience Ontario’s wine country in one location” said Paul Speck, President of Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery, adding that “participating wineries will also encourage visitors to escape the city for a day and visit the wineries across Ontario.”

The WCO and its members are thrilled to help support what will be a memorable and successful event by sharing wine country with the rest of the world.
